If you work the cupboard
Working the cupboard
2 minutes. Seven steps, in the order you do them.
- Signing in with the account you were given
- Taking stock in when a delivery lands, and out when the ward takes something
- What to do when a barcode is not recognised
- Looking something up without changing it
- Counting the shelf
If you run the ward
Setting the ward up
2 minutes 42. Eleven steps, from nothing to a running cupboard.
- Getting the accounts made and giving each person their role
- Building the catalogue and setting par levels
- Printing the shelf labels
- Putting the opening stock in and linking the box barcodes
- The first stock take, the reports, and controlled drugs
Three things worth remembering
Direction and reason stay set until you change them. An unknown barcode counts
nothing, and always says so. Look up reads; Stock in / out writes.
